TripTales respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how TripTales collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the TripTales mobile application and related services.
TripTales may collect or access travel-related information that you choose to provide or authorize, including:
TripTales only accesses information that is necessary to provide the app’s user-facing travel planning, memory organization, and storybook features.
When you choose to connect your Google account, TripTales may access Google Calendar event data that you explicitly authorize through the Google OAuth consent process.
The Google Calendar data TripTales may access includes calendar event information such as event titles, dates, times, locations, descriptions, and other travel-related calendar details.
TripTales uses Google Calendar data only to provide user-facing travel planning and itinerary import features. For example, TripTales may use authorized calendar event information to help import travel plans into the app, organize trip schedules, and create itinerary views for the user.
TripTales does not access Google Calendar data unless you choose to connect your Google account and grant permission. You may disconnect Google access or stop using Google Calendar import features at any time.
TripTales does not use an in-house or self-hosted artificial intelligence or machine learning model. TripTales may use standard commercial third-party AI service providers, currently Anthropic Claude API, to support user-facing AI-assisted features such as travel planning assistance, itinerary organization, memory summaries, and storybook-related content generation when requested or authorized by the user.
TripTales does not use Google Calendar data, Google Workspace API data, or any raw or derived Google user data to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
TripTales does not transfer Google user data to third-party AI services for the purpose of training generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Any AI-assisted processing is limited to providing or improving user-facing TripTales features that the user requests or authorizes.
TripTales does not transfer Google user data to third-party AI services that use submitted content to train generalized AI or machine learning models.

TripTales’ use and transfer of information received from Google Workspace APIs, including Google Calendar APIs, will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Information received from Google Workspace APIs is used only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and only to provide user-facing features that the user requests or authorizes.
TripTales limits its use of Google user data to providing or improving user-facing features that are prominent in the TripTales application. TripTales does not sell Google user data, does not use Google user data for advertising, and does not use Google user data to train generalized AI or machine learning models.
The use and transfer of raw or derived user data received from Google Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
TripTales stores user information only as needed to provide the requested travel planning, memory organization, and storybook features.
Google Calendar data imported into TripTales may be stored as part of the user’s travel plans or itinerary content so that the user can view and organize the trip inside the app.
Users may delete imported trip data, travel memories, photos, notes, and storybook content from within the app where available. Users may also request deletion of their data by contacting [email protected].
TripTales does not sell personal information.
TripTales does not sell, rent, or transfer Google user data to advertising platforms, data brokers, information resellers, or other third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
TripTales does not share Google user data with third parties except when necessary to provide the app’s user-facing features, comply with applicable law, protect users, or respond to a user’s support request.
If service providers are used to operate TripTales features, they are permitted to process user data only as necessary to provide those features on behalf of TripTales and not for their own advertising, independent profiling, or generalized AI model training purposes.
When AI service providers are used, they may process user data only to provide the user-facing AI-assisted feature requested or authorized by the user. TripTales does not permit AI service providers to use Google user data for advertising, independent model training, or building generalized AI or machine learning models.
TripTales allows users to add photos, notes, and memories to create travel records and storybooks. Users control what photos, notes, and memory content they choose to add to the app.
Parents or guardians may choose to include family or child-related travel memories in the app. Users are responsible for ensuring they have the right to add and use any photos or content they provide.

When you read the public TripTales novel pages at triptalesfamily.com/novel, we may collect anonymous reading analytics events such as chapter opens, reading progress, next-chapter clicks, and share clicks to understand content performance and improve the reading experience.
We use a random UUID stored in browser localStorage as an anonymous identifier and a separate random UUID in sessionStorage for the current browsing session. We do not use cookies and do not collect names, email addresses, GPS location, or other directly identifying personal information. If your browser sends Do Not Track (DNT: 1), we do not send these novel analytics events.
TripTales novel analytics event data does not store IP addresses. We also do not retain full referrer URLs or full user-agent strings in novel analytics event records. This data is used only for internal content analysis and is not published in a way that identifies individual readers.
TripTales uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to help protect user information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, but TripTales works to protect user information using reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information.
Users may choose whether to connect Google Calendar. Users may also choose what travel plans, photos, notes, and memories they add to TripTales.
Users may revoke Google account access through their Google Account permissions page. After access is revoked, TripTales will no longer be able to access new Google Calendar data unless the user reconnects the account and grants permission again.
Users may delete app content where available in the app or contact TripTales support to request assistance with data deletion.
TripTales is designed for family travel planning and memory organization. The app is intended to be used by parents, guardians, or adults who choose to manage family travel memories.
TripTales does not knowingly require children to connect a Google account or authorize Google Calendar access. Parents or guardians control the family travel content they choose to add to the app.
TripTales may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of TripTales after an update means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.

Since September 2026, the homepage measures page loads, download-link clicks, travel-mode changes, section-heading visibility, and social or story-link clicks. Events contain only predefined placement, mode, language, screen-size and source categories. A new random ID is created in memory for each page load; no cookies or persistent identifiers are used for these events, and they are not linked to app accounts or installations.
These analytics records do not store IP addresses, full referrer URLs, query strings, user-agent strings, names, photos or travel content. They are stored outside the public web root on our NAS for internal analysis. Homepage analytics respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Normal infrastructure connection logs may still be produced by the hosting and network services.
